QR code type
Text QR codes
Encode plain text for instructions, serial notes, labels, or offline information.
Best uses
- Equipment labels
- Short instructions
- Internal notes
- Simple offline messages
Typical fields
- Text content
- Colors
- Size and error correction
Practical tips
- Keep text short for a cleaner code.
- Avoid putting sensitive secrets into public labels.
- Use a URL or landing page when the message may need updates.
Plain text QR codes are usually static. If the content may change, use a dynamic landing page instead.
Static or dynamic?
If the printed material is cheap and the payload is permanent, static can be enough. If this code goes on cards, signs, menus, labels, or campaigns, dynamic usually gives you a safer path because the destination can be updated later.
